Core Engineering Services

Each of the following services can be included in your project. When we design a solution, we work through each of these steps to ensure mutual understanding of the objectives, and the best means of achieving them. And of course we need to be able to accurately replicate the results to ensure consistency and quality. For every custom project, Integrys considers each step below to determine applicability for your need.

Needs Assessment

Before we start any service project, we issue a Letter of Understanding, outlining the goals of the project. This ensures that we have a full understanding of your requirements, and have set measurable performance goals. You need to sign off on these goals, ensuring nothing is missed, and both parties are in agreement with the proposed end. This results in a ‘Statement of Work’ signed off by both parties.

Solution Design

Based on the project goals, we investigate potential solutions, proposing the one that best meets your requirements. This solution could include mechanical, electrical and software engineering. Attention is paid to ensuring specific technical details are addressed. We’ll also delineate the process required to implement this solution.

Configuration

This involves selecting the optimum components needed to accomplish design goals, with regard to ensuring hardware & communication protocol compatibility, meeting form factors, electrical considerations, and supply chain accomodations.

Assembly and Development

This is where we make it work, doing whatever is required. This can include hardware modifications & specialized connections/fittings, developing drivers, firmware, software or protocol translations. The solution configuration isn’t finalized until we have all these pieces working in a replicable prototype.

Test & Validation

At this stage of the project we take our finished prototype, then conduct a series of tests to ensure that the solution meets the design goals, usability requirements, and withstands typical environmental challenges. We produce ‘burn in’ reporting results and make recommendations on any changes that may be required.

Documentation

Great solutions need be be able to be replicated on demand. Following ISO 9000 standards, we ensure a traceability path in both material and process documentation. Where certification is required, we’ll deal with the appropriate submissions.

Quality Control

This includes establishing a sampling plan, quality verification processes, reporting, and remedial processes. Sampling plans can be modified to include every unit for small runs, or based on feasibility. Based on the remedial process, sampling can be automatically configured to increase if failure rate increases.

Intellectual Property

Many system integrators retain the solution developed for you as their intellectual property. Integrys offers you flexible ownership options for intellectual property. Intellectual property rights may be retained by either party, separately or jointly, or via licensing. Some of these choices can facilitate the patent process or eliminate licensing issues – depending on your requirements & capabilities.

Implementation Support

We’ll help you with the processes and means of introducing the newly designed solution to your business. We’ll work through technical challenges as they arise, to get you on track smoothly.

Post-Application Support

It’s a real world, and we’re prepared to deal with it. Unforeseen business challenges, operational requirements, and technical issues arise. Integrys continues to provide engineering support to deal with these issues, as well as regular maintenance and service plans.
