Tired of installing and un-installing countless SDKs to evaluate various manufacturers GigE cameras. Why not stick with one SDK, the Open SDK from JAI. The JAI SDK control tool provides GigE Vision and GenICam integration and functionality for all of JAI's line of GE cameras.
32-bit and 64-bit versions are available for Windows 7, Windows XP or Vista operating systems. The software package comprises three parts: DDK components required for easily integrating JAI GigE Vision compliant cameras into vision applications. Filter driver for fast and efficient streaming of GigE Vision packets.
The JAI Control Tool. A generic application that can be used for testing and evaluating all JAI GigE Vision cameras, as well as non-JAI cameras that are GigE Vision and GenICam compliant. The graphical user interface allows the user to see and activate the available features and functions of the connected camera(s). Streamed video can be viewed live or saved to memory.
GenICam SFNC version 1.2 and GigE Vision v1.1
Most new JAI GigE Vision cameras (those shipped after 1 July 2010) support the GenICam standard feature naming convention (SFNC) version 1.2, as well as version 1.1 of the GigE Vision standard. These cameras will operate with version 1.2.5 of the SDK & Control Tool, however to access all the new SFNC and GigE Vision 1.1 functionality requires version 1.3.0 of the SDK & Control Tool. Links are provided at the right to the latest "release candidate" for this software (RC3). It is anticipated that this version will be released as the official production version shortly.
Current 1.2.5 users who migrate to 1.3.0 may find that some applications written in 1.2.5 require adjustment to work with the 1.3.0 version of the SDK. A short technical note has been prepared offering a few tips for making a smooth transition to SDK version 1.3.0. Firmware Updaters
Some users may want to modify the firmware in their new camera to a"non-SFNC" configuration, in order to use them in systems with other non-SFNC cameras. JAI provides a set of "Firmware Updaters" to enable customers to modify the XML files in their new cameras to a non-SFNC configuration. A list of updaters is provided on the right side of this page. Click on a link to download the appropriate firmware updater if needed.
Redistributables in Full Versions
Please note: The following resdistributables are included in the "full" versions of the JAI SDK & Control Tool. You MUST have these already installed to use the "reduced" versions:
