Integrys recently exhibited at the 2010 CANSEC Security and Defense show in Ottawa, June 2-3, 2010.  Integrys, with our technology partner Perceptics, showcased advanced imaging and video analytic technologies.  Automatic under-vehicle scanning systems and automatic license plate recognition systems were highlighted.

Integrys has installed mobile License Plate Recognition systems with major Canadian police forces.  The LPR (license plate recognition) system automatically scans and reads license plates from moving vehicles.  Mobile officers can safely and automatically know vehicle information.   When a license plate is detected in the camera’s field of view, powerful adaptive optical character recognition (AOCR) software extracts the plate image, applies image enhancement filters and analyzes each individual character of the plate, regardless of the plate colors or backgrounds.

The under-vehicle inspection system (UVIS) is a safe, rapid and thorough system for examining the undercarriage of vehicles.   UVIS automatically detects the presence of a vehicle, traveling either direction, and captures a color digital image of the undercarriage as it passes over the system.  Super bright LED illumination lights all areas of the undercarriage, including wheel wells.   The image is seamless, allowing an operator to view the under-carriage as a whole while allowing pan and zoom on any area.   Images are stored in a database for archiving, review or comparison.  Combining UVIS, LPR and situational awareness cameras creates an effective physical security barrier for fixed and ad-hoc security checkpoints.
